Travis Scott: Wants a Signature Building at Nike Headquarters?

Recently, Travis Scott sparked headlines again with an interview where he outlined the next level of his collaboration with Nike—he wants an entire building at Nike HQ named after him.

Interestingly, this comes amid rumors that he’s been in talks with adidas, even discussing contract numbers—speculation that he might leave Nike. Instead of moving away, he’s now making a request to his longtime partner. It’s a plot twist worthy of a TV drama.

Nike already has a tradition of honoring athletes with landmark buildings: For example, in Greater China, there are buildings named after Yi Jianlian, Liu Xiang, and Li Na. In Portland, the global HQ features buildings like the LeBron James Innovation Center.  There are also the Serena Williams Building and Michael Jordan Building.

Earlier this year, rumors circulated that Travis Scott had extended his contract with Nike through 2027—and his unreleased designs have been generating serious buzz. Considering his track record and influence in the sneaker world, he arguably ranks among Nike’s top-tier collaborators today. But whether Nike will break from its usual “athlete-first” naming tradition and approve this request for a building is another question—and it really hinges on how much they’re willing to bend.
